Galanthus plicatus 'Golden Fleece'
Galanthus 'Golden Fleece' is a very special snowdrop in all respects. On the one hand, it's the only yellow snowdrop from the Trym family, and on the other hand, it has reached such an incredibly high price on eBay a few years ago that it has been on everyone's lips ever since. It is considered the most expensive yellow snowdrop ever.
On February 23, 2015, it was auctioned for the first time on eBay and sold for an unbelievable £ 1,390.00. As usual for snowdrops, this was the price for one mature bulb.
Creator of this outstanding snowdrop is a well-known man: Joe Sharman of the Monksilver Nursery. He is considered an absolute specialist in the snowdrop scene and is a respected man.
"Golden Fleece" is the result of a breeding program that lasted over ten years, until this unique color was achieved.
In shady cultivation, this variety may appear green-yellow. The sunnier the location, the more intense the yellow color will be.
A beautiful record snowdrop, which should not be missing in any collection.
