The plant is a seedling that resulted from crossbreeding. It is part of Joe Sharman\u2019s breeding program with Galanthus \u2018Trym\u2019. Joe Sharman is one of England\u2019s best-known snowdrop experts and owner of the Monksilver Nursery.<br \/>The flower form of Galanthus \u2018Bumblebee\u2019 is called \"pterugiform\" or \"inverse poculiform\", because the petals are short and have a strong resemblance with the inner petals.<br \/>Galanthus \u2018Bumblebee\u2019 is a pure Galanthus plicatus, has roundish flowers with an attractive shape. The flowers do not open as wiede as other Trym types and the outer petals are thick with a bold spot.<br \/>The variety name was originally suggested by Matt Bishop, another prominent galantophile from England.
