Although there are darker cultivars around today, ‘Rosemary Burnham’ is still one of the best and very much sought after. Just in recent years, the virescent snowdrops, as the green snowdrops are also called, have become one of the hippest groups. They are frequently sold for record prices on exhibitions and on the internet. They have never been as expensive as they are today.
There is a fact about ‘Rosemary Burnham’ that is even more surprising: it is by no means a new discovery, because this cultivar was found in Canada in the 1960s. It was originally growing in an old garden in Burneby, British Columbia, in the southwest of Canada. The snowdrop was found by Rosemary Burnham, a gardener from Vancouver. Note that this happened at a time when snowdrops as a collector’s item had no meaning whatsoever in Canada. Even today, more than 50 years later, relatively few people are collecting snowdrops in Canada. This is unfortunate, since there are excellent, feral forms of Galanthus elwesii in the forests and old estates, which have adapted perfectly to the local conditions.
Galanthus ‘Rosemar Burnham’ should not be missing in any snowdrop collection due to the historical past and its suitability as a garden plant.

'Rosemary Burnham' Galanthus elwesii ‘Rosemary Burnham’Galanthus ‘Rosemary Burnham’ ist ein sehr spezielles Schneeglöckchen, da es das erste komplett grüne Schneeglöckchen war, das gefunden wurde.
