The well-known snowdrop enthusiast also created the extraordinarily beautiful variety \u2018Treasure Island\u2019. Her garden at Lower Hopton Farm is located in the county of Herefordshire in the West Midlands of England.<br \/>Veronica Cross passed away in spring 2019. She was known among plant collectors not only for her snowdrops, but also for her peonies.<br \/>Galanthus \u2018Pieces of Eight\u2019 is a hybrid between Galanthus elwesii and Galanthus plicatus, also known as G. x hybridus.<br \/>In terms of flower shape, the variety resembles the very attractive Galanthus plicatus \u2018Bumblebee\u2019. However, the two plants can easily be distinguished by the leaves.<br \/>\u2018Pieces of Eight\u2019 is one of several plants with the same parents, all of which have similar flower characteristics and come from the same place in Veronica Cross\u2019s garden, which she called \"Treasure Island\" due to the snowdrops found there. This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful varieties of recent years.
