In many cases, they are up to 5 times as long as the spathe of a normal snowdrop. Furthermore, they stand individually on the stem and are not fused together.<br \/>The flowers themself have green spots on the outer petals, similar to the \u2018Viridapice\u2019.<br \/>Galanthus \u2018Scharlockii\u2019 was found by Julius Scharlock in 1818 and named after the discoverer by the famous snowdrop collector Edward Augustus Bowles.
