BIE-Group

Galanthus nivalis BIE-Group

This group of virescent snowdrops was bred by Swiss-Drops from parent plants that are characterised by special growth height and flower size. When crossing two plants from the BIE group, a relatively large number of virescent offspring with similar characteristics to the parent plants are produced.
The plants of this group are characterised by a more upright growth and a good overall height. In addition, the flowers are larger and have a rounder shape than is the case with many virescent Galanthus nivalis from Italy, Slovenia and Austria. Frost resistance is also significantly improved because the harsh climate in Switzerland has an influence on the hardiness of snowdrops.
