VIL-Group

Galanthus nivalis VIL-Group

This group of snowdrops was bred by Swiss-Drops from parent plants that have a conspicuous yellow marking on the inner petals. Breeding with snowdrops from the VIL group regularly produces seedlings with yellow inner markings. The size, shape and colour of this spot can vary greatly and range from a pale yellow to bright orange.
If one compares the representatives of this group with well-known varieties such as 'Blonde Inge', it is noticeable that the flowers are larger and the plants themselves are clearly taller. The frost resistance is also exceptionally good. All representatives of the VIL group are clearly earlier than Galanthus nivalis 'Blonde Inge'.
