'Chthonic'
Galanthus nivalis 'Chthonic'
Galanthus 'Chthonic' is a snowdrop variety with a pale green ovary and a very pale inner marking. It was discovered by the well-known snowdrop expert Alan Street in the cemetery of Blewbury, a village in Oxfordshire, England. As a child, Alan Street found the still cultivated variety 'Blewbury Tart' only a short distance away.
Alan Street ran the Avon Bulbs nursery in South Petherton, a village in the south of England, for many years and was one of the most renowned experts on bulbous plants and snowdrops in particular until his passing in 2022.
