'Alpha Bermudian Triangle'

Galanthus plicatus ‘Alpha Bermudian Triangle’

This variety comes from the snowdrop grower Ruslan Mishustin from Kherson in Ukraine. The interesting thing about 'Alpha Bermudian Triangle' is that its flower characteristics are reminiscent of members of the Trym family and although it looks somewhat similar to 'South Hayes', it has absolutely nothing to do with Trymtype varieties at all. The green coloring of the outer petals has developed in a different way, completely independent of the known varieties of the Trym family that are cultivated nowadays.
The name of this snowdrop cultivar is an allusion to the triangular markings on the outer petals.
A very nice snowdrop, but unfortunately it is very rare in collections. It could become more important for breeding in the future because new combinations are possible with the advantage of a new gene pool.
