'Kencot Ivy'
Galanthus elwesii 'Kencot Ivy'
Galanthus ‘Kencot Ivy’ is a large-flowered snowdrop with green lines at the tips of the outer petals. The inner petals do not have the typical sinus notch on the lower edge, which is rare in snowdrops.
The variety was named by Joe Sharman, owner of the Monksilver Nursery in England. The name was chosen because the markings on the inner petals reminded Joe of an ivy leaf. Kencot is a village in West Oxfordshire, where several special snowdrops like 'Kencot Kali', 'Kencot Ripple', 'Kencot Pip' etc. were found.
