'Tilly'

Galanthus hybr. ‘Tilly’

Galanthus 'Tilly' is a hybrid from the garden of the well-known snowdrop breeder Veronica Cross. The seedling is the result of a cross between Galanthus plicatus 'Trym' and Galanthus gracilis. Another well-known hybrid with these parents is Galanthus 'Veronica Cross'. The variety 'Tilly' is a so-called pterugiform snowdrop. Veronica Cross, who sadly passed away in 2019, named it after her dog. Veronica Cross, in addition to her snowdrop cultivars, was also known for exceptionally beautiful peonies, which she cultivated in her garden of more than one and a half acres (Lower Hopton Farm) in the county of Herefordshire in England. Like most of the varieties from Veronica Cross' garden, Galanthus 'Tilly' is an absolute showstopper. Due to the fact that Galanthus gracilis is involved, it is not quite as large as other trymtypes.
