'Alpha Nymphaea Leaves'
Galanthus cilicicus ‘Alpha Nymphaea Leaves’
Galanthus ‘Alpha Nymphaea Leaves’ was selected by snowdrop grower Ruslan Mishustin from Kherson in Ukraine. It is one of only a few varieties of Galanthus cilicicus with green markings on the outer petals. In general, Galanthus cilicicus is not seen very frequently in snowdrop collections and selected varieties aren’t wiedespread at all. As a result, these plants are extremely valuable.
The term "Nymphaea Leaves" means "leaves of water lily". Anyone who takes a closer look at the round marks on the inner petals will instantly recognize why Rusland Mishustin chose this name.
Unfortunately, the variety is not easy to find in collections and is very rare for the reasons stated.
