'Mordred'
Galanthus nivalis 'Mordred'
Galanthus ‘Mordred’ is a slightly distressed looking double snowdrop named by Simon Savage (1965-2012), a snowdrop collector and galanthophile from Wrockwardine, Shropshire, England. In addition to snowdrops, he was primarily interested in primroses, ferns and daffodils and belonged to the old guard of snowdrop collectors who pursued their passion long before snowdrops became fashionable.
Mordred is a character from the King Arthur legends. The snowdrop has attractive green tips on the petals. It grows rather slowly and is still rarely seen in collections.
