'Moya's Green'

Galanthus elwesii ‘Moya's Green’

This snowdrop variety with its large, green-marked flowers goes back to Michael Baron of Mount House Gardens in New Alresford, Hampshire, England. Mount House was developed over several decades by Michael and his late wife Caryl (Galanthus 'Caryl Baron'). Michael Baron has a large collection of snowdrops and several well-known varieties have been created in his garden.

Galanthus elwesii 'Moya's Green' is a vigorous, large-flowered selection that catches the eye from afar. It looks particularly good in a group. Over time, it forms attractive clumps that produce many flowers early in the year. The markings can vary greatly, from small spots in the lowest third to large markings over more than two thirds of the petal length. In any case, this is one of the most attractive varieties of Galanthus elwesii that have been selected so far.
