'Yaffle'

Galanthus plicatus ‘Yaffle’

Galanthus ‘Yaffle’ is a snowdrop that was selected by Richard Hobbs in 1992. Hobbs is the owner of Witton Lane Seeds, a seed company based in Little Plumstead in Norwich, Norfolk in the east of England. Witton Lane Seeds specialises in the trade of seeds of special and rare plants. Hobb's garden has been home to the national Muscari collection since 1993.
The snowdrop variety ‘Yaffle’ is characterised by the light green colouring of the ovary and the interesting seersucker texture of the outer petals. This is somewhat reminiscent of the very well-known variety ‘Diggory’, in whose discovery Richard Hobbs was also involved.
